Hi. I'm Nelson.

People usually know I work in AI without knowing what that looks like in practice.

The simplest description I have is that my work sits where people strategy, data, systems, work design, and hands-on AI implementation meet. I'm a generalist by temperament, deep in a few things and curious about everything, and AI is what lets me move between those disciplines faster than I ever have before. On any given day, I might be researching how people adopt AI, helping a founder work through a product decision, or building an internal tool.

Today, I advise founders, work with People teams on analytics and AI, and coach leaders. Some engagements have a defined(ish) scope. Others involve taking on ongoing leadership or working alongside a founder as their product develops.

I also partner with HR and workplace technology companies on workshops and helping their customers build with their tools.

Before all this, I used data to drive game strategy in sports, then was fortunate to lead people analytics and tech teams at Wayfair, Sonos, and Figma.

I’m also completing my MBA at Columbia Business School, where my work focuses on strategy, entrepreneurship, product management, and AI transformation.

What I care about is the judgment to know whether the direction is right, not just whether the work is moving.
